Prior to finding Christine, we were about to give up, she was our last hope. We have 2 dogs, Jacey a 3 year old Jack Russell mix and Clover a 2 year old Cairn terrier. Clover would viciously attack Jacey and family members upon entering our family room. Clover was also very protective over her food, the 2 dogs couldn't be in the same room together during feeding time. Christine came to us August 2008 as our last hope. We feel that if she never came we would of had to get rid of Clover. She worked with us on how to have the 2 dogs together during feeding time and how to get Clover to stop attacking Jacey. We also had problems with Jacey during walks and being aggressive towards anything other than us. Using the tools Christine showed us, it took about 3-4 months for Clover to finally be able to eat with Jacey and not have any attacks against family members..... and she no longer attacks Jacey, Jacey is still a work in progress on walks, but we have seen tremendous improvements. Christine, you have always available to answer questions and to help us along the way. We can't thank you enough! Without your help and guidance, we would have given up.
-Thank you

Update: Jacey and Clover
Hi Christine,
Just wanted to fill you in on how Jacey is doing since our last visit. I am using the technique and tools that your shared with me and WOW what a difference that has made. I can't believe the difference in her. I had a friend meet me up at the lake to walk with their dog, a very laid back calm dog, we walked him and Jacey and at first it was very intense, but about five minutes into it Jacey was under control and very relaxed even laying near the dog and person, I never thought this would ever happen, I am so thrilled with the progress with her. you are the best! We could never have been able to keep Clover without your help and to see Jacey calm on a walk is all I ever wanted. Thank you again for all you have done for us, I can't say enough about our experience with you, I tell everyone about how far we have come and it is all thanks to you. We couldn't be happier, thanks for everything!

Two years ago we adopted two young pit bulls from the local animal shelter, Mick (male) and Birdie (female). They had instant chemistry when we introduced them and before taking them home, but many challenges laid ahead. We thought we knew what we were getting into, having had another wonderful pit bull. Over the first 9 months, we saw several trainers, schooled ourselves on becoming pack leaders, and exercised them a lot. But our skills were lacking somehow, and these two crazy dogs were getting the best of us for sure. Then came the fights. The first, we thought was a fluke. The second happened a few months later and it was devastating (ER, stitches, surgical drains, the whole nine yards). We worried that no one would be able to help us. Then we found Christine. She helped us take our previous training, knowledge of dog dynamics, and practices and make them WORK for our dogs. She helped us fine tune and amp up the things we were doing correctly; and she quickly identified the things that we were doing wrong. She taught us to see the signs early before things got out of hand. She taught us what to allow and what to correct. She taught us how to make the most out of their energy and to actually use their excitability to help train them. Finally, should they ever fight again (which we doubt — we’ve had 8 months of no fighting), she taught us how to break it up safely. We still have a lot of work to do (in correcting both our and their behavior), but the progress we have made under Christine’s guidance is very encouraging and reinforces that we are on the right track. I know Mick and Birdie would thank her too. She really has helped us to restore the peace in our lives.

It's been a couple of years since Lexington and I met Christine Nolan. As Lex and I struggled to break his many bad habits while he sat and sat at the animal shelter, Christine stepped in and showed me how to bring out the best in my beloved boy. She didn't provide me with quick fixes. Instead, she helped me understand his behavior and taught me how to change his way of thinking.
Lex and I bonded so much as shelter volunteer and shelter inmate, I decided that he had to join our family. Luckily, Christine has stayed with us. She has given Lexington the sense of purpose and structure he desperately needs. With Christine's persistence, expertise and guidance, this dog that once jumped and mouthed, lunged aggressively after other animals and had all around bad manners is becoming a perfect gentleman. Walking him is now a pleasure rather than a lawsuit in the making! The most amazing part is that Lexington now plays "foster brother" to other dogs in need! He recently welcomed an abused pit bull puppy into his home and was so tolerant of her constant curious and playful nature. Working with Christine has LITERALLY changed our lives! She is great in her field and I believe it is her love and faith in every dog she meets that puts her leagues above other dog behaviorists and trainers. Thank you Christine!

Zeph is doing great!
First on the health side, thanks to her new diet, she has lost about 6 pounds, which she needed! She is also LOVING her long morning walks and lunchtime games of catch (now that she is good about letting go of the ball:). These activities have made her much more calm during the day. We have kept our weekly dates with Bailey and she is doing really well with them. I am so happy she finally has a doggy friend!
On the whole though, she is much more calm and balanced, I think in a large part to my own response to other dogs and the environment. This is what you had worked on with us and it is paying off! At the kennel and in our neighborhood, Zeph is getting compliment after compliment about her behavior and I think she feels it. I certainly do! We still have a ways to go, but we are invested in the process and making progress each day. Thank you again Christine!

Christine Nolan is AMAZING! We can't thank her enough for balancing our pack. We didn't even know we had lost control until our dogs started fighting with one another. Christine observed their behavior and told us the dogs were confused about who was in control (and here we thought it was us!). She taught us how to be good, strong pack leaders, providing us with invaluable tools and techniques. We never thought we could walk our FOUR dogs at once, but now do so every day. Since Christine came along, our dogs are much better behaved, less stressed and living together in harmony. Thank you Christine - you are the best!

I just wanted to write you a quick note to thank you for helping us with Roxie.
The information and techniques you taught us have helped us to control and retrain Roxie's aggression toward other dogs. We are learning to interpret her signals and react appropriately. Roxie is a work in progress, but with the tools you gave us and your support we know Roxie will be a much more stable, calm, submissive dog.

We recently brought home a three month old yellow lab/shephard mix named Rudy. We already had a ten year old yellow lab/terrier mix named Maddie that we raised from a puppy. Rudy and Maddie struggled to get along and since we never had two dogs before, we turned to Christine for assistance. She was a big help in identifying for us which behavior was acceptable and which was not as well as many tips to use in their daily training. Since then Rudy and Maddie are getting along a little better every day. Christine has also been easy to contact for follow up help.
We definitely recommend her to all dog owners.

Hank has been fiercely protective of our family and our house for
years. He has been aggressive to humans as well as other dogs. That is
why this past weekend is so unbelievable to us! We had six people over
for dinner and after an initial growl, he feel asleep in the other room
and didn't give a care! Possibly more amazing, he walked with, played
with, and allowed another dog into our yard and house! Hank's progress,
while full of ups and downs, has been so amazing in such a short time!
It gives us tremendous hope for his long term abilities! Christine
helped us be much better dog owners and calmer people! We are so
grateful for the gift she has given us - more time to spend with Hank
and pleasant time at that! Thanks again!
Update: We all feel really
good about everything here. We went from a really bad time, losing the
Basset Hound and Houdini's injury to training Hank, adding onto the
family (a beautiful blood hound named "June Bug"). It has been amazing and I know
you are a hug part of that journey for us! So thank you again. My dad
is convinced that you waved a magic wand over Hank when you took him
for that first walk, the change is so unbelievable. Thanks again Christine!

Jazz continues to make progress! He loves going for walks, and we've actually gotten a few compliments from people on how well behaved he is in public! He even plays more nicely with my parents instead of being a bully or biting them. He's been calm around Jingles, too. He's coming along!
Who would have known it could be this stress-free living with Jazz! After months of chasing him all over the neighborhood, finding all sorts of our belongings in chewed-up ruins, everything left on the floor being wet with urine, and most of all, poor old Jingles being beaten up by his rough-housing, no one thought Jazz would ever be a "good" dog! He believed he ruled everything and was kicked out of obedience training. My family and I were skeptical anyone could help our situation... We changed our minds after the first time meeting you! Jazz seemed to be an entirely different dog after I learned how to work with him - he and I are more calm and less frustrated with each other. Thanks for showing me how to communicate with my pup! He seems so much happier, as we all are, to finally have peace in our house! What you do is an amazing gift!
Thanks again,
Amanda and Jazz...and the rest of our family! |
